Terms of Service

Last updated: May 22, 2026

In plain English: By using WeLocale you agree to these terms. They cover your account, how we handle subscriptions and billing, what you're responsible for, and the limits of our liability.

1. Account & access

  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • Keep your credentials, API keys, and secret tokens confidential. Do not share them.
  • You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date.
  • You must be at least 18 years old or have the legal authority to enter into this agreement on behalf of your organisation.

2. Using the widget

  • Install the widget only on domains you own or control and have added to your Allowed Domains list.
  • Do not attempt to bypass rate limits, signature checks, or token validation.
  • Do not use WeLocale to collect, translate, or distribute content you do not have the rights to use.
  • Do not use the service to distribute spam, malware, or any content that violates applicable laws or third-party rights.
  • Do not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of WeLocale.

3. Subscription plans & billing

3.1 Plans

WeLocale offers a Free plan and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed on a recurring monthly basis unless otherwise stated. Plan limits (websites, languages, strings, scans, translations) are defined on the pricing page.

3.2 Automatic renewal

By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorise WeLocale to automatically charge your payment method at the start of each billing period. Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel before the renewal date. You will receive an email reminder before each renewal. You can cancel at any time from your account dashboard.

3.3 Price changes

We will notify you at least 14 days in advance of any price change. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new price.

3.4 Failed payments

If a payment fails, we will retry according to our dunning schedule. If payment cannot be collected, your account may be downgraded to the Free plan or suspended. We will notify you by email before any suspension.

3.5 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account dashboard - no phone call or email required. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain full access until that date.

3.6 Refunds

All fees are non-refundable except where required by law. No refund is issued for the unused portion of a billing period. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 30 days.

3.7 Free trials

If you start a free trial, we will notify you of the amount and date of the first charge before your trial ends. You can cancel at any time during the trial period without being charged.

4. Content & translations

You are responsible for your website content and any translations you publish through the widget. WeLocale provides the tooling; you decide what to translate and what visitors see. We process your content solely to provide the service.

5. Intellectual property

  • Your website content and source strings remain your property.
  • Translations generated using WeLocale are yours to use under your subscription.
  • By using the service, you grant WeLocale a limited licence to process your content for the purpose of providing translation and localisation services.
  • WeLocale retains all rights in its software, infrastructure, and proprietary technology.

6. Availability and changes

We aim for high availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We may update, modify, or discontinue features with reasonable notice. We will not materially reduce the core functionality of a paid plan during an active billing period without offering a pro-rated refund or alternative.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that translations will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any particular purpose. You are responsible for reviewing published translations.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WeLocale's total cumulative liability for any claims arising out of or related to these terms or the service will not exceed the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

9. Termination

  • You may stop using the service at any time.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in abuse, or harm the platform, with or without prior notice depending on the severity.
  • Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases. We will retain your data for 30 days after termination to allow export, after which it may be deleted.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which WeLocale is incorporated, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notification at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
