The short answer
If you need one language, Weglot's 15 euro Starter and our $15 Starter are close, and the choice comes down to how many words you have. If you need three or more languages, the gap opens fast: Weglot moves you to 29 euro at three languages, 79 at five, 299 at ten and 699 at twenty. Our $15 plan covers ten and our $39 plan covers twenty.
If your site is very large, read the word column carefully. Weglot's top plans carry far bigger allowances than ours, and at that size the language count stops being the thing that matters.

Where Weglot is genuinely better
This is the part most comparison pages leave out, so here it is first.
- Track record. Weglot has been shipping since 2016. Its WordPress plugin holds a 96 percent rating across more than 1,900 reviews. Ours has none yet, because it launched in June.
- Word volume at the top. One million translated words on their Advanced plan and five million on Extended, against our 600,000 and two million. For a large catalogue or a big content library, that is the number that decides it.
- Translated URL slugs. They translate the URL itself. We translate the page and handle hreflang, but the slug stays as written. If translated slugs are a requirement, we do not meet it today.
- Human translation workflow. Access to professional translators inside the product, plus a glossary and review tooling built over years.
- Enterprise paperwork. SSO, DPAs, security review, custom contracts. If procurement is involved, they are set up for it and we are not.
What is the same, despite what you may have read
Weglot does not reset your word allowance every month. Their pricing page says a translated word is counted once and not each time it is translated, and customers who exceed a limit delete translations or upgrade. Our allowance behaves the same way. Anyone selling you a "no monthly resets" difference between the two is repeating a myth, and until recently that included our own copy.
Both products are also snippet-based rather than proxy-based on their standard plans, so neither one re-routes your traffic through a third-party domain by default.

Words are bought once. Nothing resets monthly, and editing a page you already translated does not spend your allowance again, so "translated words" means how much translated content you have, not how much you have ever generated.
How to switch
Your Weglot translations live in Weglot, so switching means re-translating rather than importing a file. That sounds worse than it is, because the re-translation is automatic and it only counts against your allowance once.
- Start the free trial and add your domain.
- Paste our script tag, or install the plugin from the WordPress directory. Leave Weglot running while you do this.
- Run a scan and let the translation finish, then review anything you care about in the dashboard.
- Compare the two side by side on the pages that matter to you.
- Remove the Weglot snippet or plugin, and cancel there once you are satisfied.
Which one to pick
Pick Weglot if you need translated URL slugs, if you want professional translators inside the tool, if procurement needs an enterprise vendor, or if your site is big enough that a million translated words is the deciding number.
